This is a single-movement solo piano work, written in honor of Frederic Rzewski shortly after his death in 2022. The title refers to Rzewski’s own piano work Rubinstein in Berlin, although the subject in this case is Rzewski, not Rubinstein. This work incorporates some quotes from the second movement of Rzewski’s Winter Nights, as well as some indirect references to Nat and Cannonball Adderley’s superlative Fun.
