This is a single-movement work for clarinet, cello and piano, and was written for Trio Agora. The title, which makes use of the NATO phonetic alphabet, points to “Frederic Rzewski Joel Hoffman Hotel Tango”, conveying the idea that JH composed a piece using material by FR that lives inside of a kind of “Tango Hotel”. It’s a Dada-inspired musical world infused with humor and the unexpected…yet at the same time it is a sincere homage to FR, one of the most remarkable musicians of our time.
